What is social network? Social Network is a category of internet applications that help connect friends, business partners,or individuals with specific intrests by providing free services such as photos, presentations, e-mail, blogging, an so on using a variety of tools.
What are the services of social networking? A service that builds online communities by providing an online space for people to build free homepages and that provides basic communication and support tools for conducting different activities in the social network.
People think that social networking is only for communicating or to find jobs, but as you read social networking provides many capabilities and services some may include Wikis which can be used to jointly creat documents, Instant messaging (IM) capabilities, online voting may be available to poll member opinions,and users can bookmark self-created content. Social network is growing larger everyday and more users are learning how to do so many great things on social networking sites. Students are even doing class presentations through social networks.
Do you think that social network will be the best thing that ever hit the world? What services you believe social networking sites will not be able to do in the future?
I think that social networking sites are not going to be an issue in the future. I say this because it is growing more and more i mean there are so many websites like FB and twitter that involve so many different ways in which one can communicate with the world.
ReplyDeleteSocial media sites are one of the best inventions as of late. It is the fastest and cheapest way to brand and market a product or service to millions of viewers within minutes. From an HR perspective, it's a great tool with respect to recruiting top talent and screening applicants.
ReplyDeleteAs technology improves i think that social networks are going to gain more popularity.Just seen a story in the news about the cities who are the most socially connected the top city was Washington D.C. followed by Atlanta and Denver.The least socially connected state was El Paso,Texas.
ReplyDeleteHow can a propective employer trust the information coming form someone that they have no other means of contact, except via social
ReplyDeletenetworking. That's like trying to find your soulmate and trusting what they tell you; because they punched the "right" buttons on their computer keyboard. And I will say it again, "just because something is easy to do, doesn't make it the right thing to do". We are forgetting that the younger generation is forgetting who to spell, read,count and simple manners in public and so-called technology has a lot to do with the decline of people skills.
If this is the way that we are headed, I will ONLY use it when necessary. Because, in my mind,nothing will take the place of relating with people o a up-front level.
I think that social networking could be a good thing in the future. It is true that we rely more on technology to communicate and face to face contact is not as prominant in our society. But this goes for the fact that a lot of business is done over seas now. We have to communicate using technology and we have to become good at it.
ReplyDeleteI think when one can communicate well through technological means it makes him/her seem more credible. It is even harder to communicate properly when someone does not see you rather than face to face. You have to make sure you will be understood correctly.
I feel that social networks are wonderful they offer benefits to your personal, professional, business, and entertainment world. Because of this technology i have got the chance to speak with people that I never though i would have the chance to in a life, who i would not have recognized even if they where right next to me. I said that to say that it's all about how you use social networks just because people misuse the technology that is available to us don't make it bad. I believe that when it is all said and done social networks will be the center of technology and the world.
ReplyDeleteSocial networking represents a great tool for all the aspects mentioned above. It is far from the greatest thing that we'll see, because technology improves at a rapid rate. It would be a fantastic feat if someone can close the personal( physical interaction gap). Maybe one day someone will. I feel that that's the only thing lacking is the personal contact while on line.
