We live in the era where technology is all around us. Before there were things like telephones and computers one would communicate by letter or in person now we can just call or send a message via the computer. like alot of things in life social networks and economies has its pros and cons.
Pros: Social Networks always has the latest news rather it being celebrity gossip or political events. It is very easy to connect with people you know and long lost friends some users even create new relationships. Business owners promote and conduct there business through social networks, people also promote events.
Cons: Social Networking is a great way to connect but always be careful and know the person you are allowing to view your information. Many people argue that having a page on facebook or other internet economies open to the public is a great way for people to stalk you without you even knowing. Most internet economies dont have a age limit so anyone at any age can easily make a profile, which can result in harrassment or unwanted attention from someone.
I agree that social networking has a lot of advantages. I believe sites such as facebook are very good for staying in touch with friends and other social connections.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I think cyberstalking is an issue. Why is it so easy for people to cyberstalk others? Is there a way to protect oneself from harresment? It is a scary thought that something as innocent as facebooking has the potential to cause criminal behavior.
There have been many stories in the news about people using social networks such as MySpace and Facebook to commit crimes. I believe that these sites should be monitored more closely, and age limits should be set because it’s usually the younger kids who become victims to these horrible crimes.
